Governor Signs Bill Repealing Recreational Piers Law
Senate Bill 152 (Pavley), which was signed into law by Governor Brown in October, repeals the law that prohibits the State Lands Commission (SLC) from charging rent for private recreational piers constructed on state lands and requires the SLC to charge fair annual rent for such piers. The rent requirement does not apply to a lease in effect on July 1, 2011, for the term of that lease; and, a lease for which the application and application fees were submitted to the commission prior to March 31, 2011.
