Assembly Bill 129 (Beall), a bill that would have allowed a city or county to assess and record a notice of lien for fines or penalties relating to certain ordinance violations on real property, was vetoed by Governor Brown earlier this month. The CLTA had worked with Assemblyman Beall’s office over the summer to address lien language problems originally in the bill. CLTA removed its opposition to the bill once those problems had been addressed.
