CLTA Objects to Abstractor Liability Proposal
The CLTA, working closely with several individual title companies and law firms, took steps to oppose a resolution originating with the San Diego Bar County Association that would impose abstractor liability. If adopted by the San Diego County Bar Association the resolution would be proposed to the California State Bar for consideration as legislation. The CLTA letter set forth why the proposal was ill-conceived and should not be adopted.
