Two electronic recording systems have been certified by the California Attorney General under the Electronic Recording Delivery Act (ERDA). Last year the multi-county California recording system known as SECURE received a 2010 Achievement Award from the National Association of Counties. Four California counties share ownership of the system with three other counties participating. A second multi-county system, known as CERTNA, has four participating counties. Both systems include Northern and Southern California Counties. The counties involved in e-recording represent over 60% of all documents recorded statewide. E-recording has been an incredible success story, combining efficiency with security. The CLTA continues to work with recorders and the County Recorders Association of California to promote electronic recording.
